No-exam life insurance

Who makes the cut for fast-track approval, what the process looks like, and what's different when you're not eligible.

Lots of carriers have switched to accelerated approval: for ages and amounts that fit their rules, they decide from the application, your prescription file, traffic records and different sources rather than bring in a paramedic. Sometimes you know the decision the same business day. Each quote shows whether you'll be examined, might be, or probably won't.

What it changes

The accelerated track still means real scrutiny. What you swear to gets checked; a policy written on false information can be revoked during the first two years. Should the underwriter's records turn up trouble, they might request testing anyway; you call the shots from that point forward.

Who tends to qualify

Usually folks younger than around age 60, insuring amounts below what the carrier allows the quick route, zero major health troubles, and zero nicotine for a year or more. If your doctor saw you recently and pulled blood work, some carriers will take those records in place of a new exam.

Should you need one, it commonly takes thirty minutes or less, done at your house or place of business by a contractor in the Montclair region, with no bill to you. For applicants with solid results, the exam can even boost your class, so it's not automatically a negative.
